Service records of Ohio volunteers in Allied Forces in World War I, 1922-1925.

Contains service records of Ohioans who volunteered for service in Allied Forces during World War I. Most of these volunteers entered the service of other Allied nations prior to the United States's entry into the war. Records may include volunteer's name, birthdate, birthplace, parents' names, place of enlistment, force served with (nation and unit), and place of residence after the war. Also includes correspondence.

When Mexican and Civil War soldiers mustered out of service, many regiments turned their flags over to the state of Ohio. The General Assembly authorized the purchase of glass cases to display battle flags in the Statehouse. The battle flag collection increased as flags from the Spanish-American War, World War I and World War II were deposited. By the 1960s the flags were in poor condition.
